Tracer Forecasts for CARES

This webpage contains 72-hr forecasts for the CARES field campaign. The forecasts are generated nightly using WRF-Chem with tracers emitted from 20 sub-regions within California that represent important emission regions that could impact flight planning for the campaign. The 20 regions are shown here and are based on a threshold carbon monoxide emission rate within each region of interest. The diurnal cycle and emission rates for the tracers are determined from the carbon monoxide emissions in a California Air Resources Board emissions dataset that was developed for the NASA ARCTAS campaign during the summer of 2008.
